That's all for now. I am going to give my rump a rest from sitting at this computer! I miss you all. Please drop me a line and let me know how you all are doing. We hope to be visiting sometime the end of the year for a couple of months. Keep on doing what's right and you'll find peace among the craziness!
Hello my friends! What a week! We spent some time out of town this weekend and washed our windows, bought mattresses for the bunk beds so our visitors won't hate us, and many more wonderful things I can not mention. I did however experience something I can't ever recall doing before. I fell flat on my rump! Maybe it was because I made fun of the sign "rump on driveway" but really it was because I got distracted and didn't watch where I was heading. I was on a people mover conveyor belt and turned to talk to someone when it can to an end. Whoops! The next thing I knew I was flat on my backside staring up at some very concerned people. If my rump wasn't smarting so much I might have laughed. Then I realized there were people wanting to exit and about to step on me! I quickly got up with the help of friends and continued on. It has been 3 days and the I can walk without much pain but sitting still hurts. I have always been a bit clumsy but China is a hazardous place. I am realizing I need to pay more attention to my feet and not to all the new things I am seeing. I did ask my friends though, "Was my skirt over my head?"! Now here is a sign to wonder at....what is speeling? I think they were trying to say No Climbing but in what language? Maybe speeling means dancing because the picture kind of looks like he is dancing. This is a broom. Yep, it is. I see them quite often here in the hands of people who probably spend their whole day sweeping. How easy to replace when it wears out. Just grab a handful of dead branches, tie together and you're good to go. And who spends money on fancy metal ladders when you can have one like this.... It is made of bamboo if you can't tell. It is probably very sturdy yet light weight. They use bamboo in all their scaffolding, too. No, this is not a pet store but a local grocery store. Have you ever had turtle soup? I have not but one day I might try it, if forced to! Yummy! Snakes to go! This was taken at a place that sells herbs and stuff like that. I wonder what the dead snakes were for? It was a creepy place. I had to show you this because American stuff is everywhere in this city. McDonalds rule Hong Kong and KFC rules this city. I have only seen this one Burger King though. I still haven't tried a burger from McDonalds because I was told you can't trust the meat. Even a kid I saw that was from the US told me it doesn't taste the same. The fries, however, taste the same. But I can tell you this, the place is busy!!

I googled speeling. It evidently is an Old English word that means climb. I also found a few sites that indicated that a popular Chinese to English dictionary has that word instead of climb. I found several other pictures of signs that people had taken that show the same word with more descriptive pictures on the signs.

Well how about that! Leave it up to my son to figure it out. I now have a new word in my vocab.. speeling. "I am going to speel this mountain." Ha! My spell check says it is spelled wrong. Even it doesn't know it is a word. Thanks for the clarification, Tim. Love ya always!
