I just realized that the panda video in "Ocean Park" was set on private viewing. Oops. If you want to see the panda you can try again. He was not doing much, just eating. Please let me know if you see something I need to fix or improve on. This is a learning experience for me. Take care...Cindy

Here we are in Ocean Park continued....Oh, why a gator topiary? There actually is a swamp in the northern territory of Hong Kong where there is a gator. Really! I have not seen it but it is a tourist attraction. Are you interested in seeing a bubble eye fish? I was amazed by the thing. Made me feel much better about the bags under my eyes. Here it is....... It comes in three colors: black, orange and orange and white. Notice the other colorful and odd fish in the aquarium section: They put on shows here and there. One was this acrobatic show. Real nice except the constant whistle from the rolly polly guy. You can click on the picture for the link to see the video of this group of acrobats. Or copy and paste the link below: http://youtu.be/u_dWEgS4g7Q There was also a dance routine from a group of scantly clad young women but I felt like that style of dancing should have been found in a Las Vegas exotic show not a family theme park. We had to walk away. Below are the views of the Hong Kong harbor. We really enjoyed our visit to this park. So from China and the bubble eye fish to you, I wish you all a good day, week, month and year. Love and hugs...Cindy So what is Ocean Park? Ocean Park Hong Kong, commonly known as Ocean Park, is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park and amusement park, situated in the Southern District of Hong Kong. It is a lovely theme park. It mixes zoo animals with roller coaster rides. Sounds familiar to all my Tampa friends, right? But the shows are minimal and basic. John and I went together alone since we couldn't find anyone to join us. It isn't that expensive and it helped that I had purchased a Groupon coupon so we got 2 days for the price of one. Our first visit was in April. Weather wise, a very good time to go. Our second trip was in June, no choice, coupon rules. Weather wise, it was HOT. As you will see, it was so hot that John went out in shorts. First time ever! "Hi!" Notice the shoes. I couldn't lose him with those shoe laces. Here comes the Pandas!!!! Want to see more of the Panda? Click on the picture of the sleeping panda to see the video. Or click on the link below. http://youtu.be/l-Z3wWF-CEM There was a part of the park called Old Hong Kong. It has various elements of the Hong Kong life style. Here is a few. The best thing in the park to me was the cable car ride up to the other side of the park. The park has two areas. The one down below has the animals and the one on the mountain has the roller coaster rides. For a video of the ride click on picture to the left or copy and paste the link below. http://youtu.be/ztR_mY_PgWc Check out the views on the ride...... There were interesting topiary arrangements and beautiful gardens. Bird show was okay but maybe better if I spoke Cantonese. There was even a red panda but he was being shy. I couldn't get his face. I wish I had that hair. Although being a blond has been fun! I think that is about all for now. I will show you the aquarium stuff and the acrobats next time. Have you ever seen a bubble eye fish? Check back for that on my next blog.
Hope you all are well. Keep smiling. Love and hugs.....Cindy |
