We are enjoying the cooler days and nights. The A/C is off and the windows are open. Of course, that means more noise and strange smells. There is one smell I like. It is the one that comes from the theater below our bedroom window. Popcorn! But not the kind in the states. It is coated with a sugary caramel flavor. It is good! BUT I do miss the salty, buttery kind. Someone ask me what I desire to do when I get back in January and now, after some thought, it has to be getting some popcorn. We pick up popcorn from the theater sometimes. John has been to one movie but it is too expensive to go regularly. Plus there really are not any good ones to see. Chinese movies are violent and the content is usually about war and drama. Not much comedy, my favorite.
Nice sign. The parks don't have enough seating and no covered areas. Makes having a picnic hard. I wonder why they don't provide picnic tables?
This is Dino. His nickname is Dino because he likes to walk around like a dinosaur and roar. I tried to get him to do it for my camera but he got all shy on me.
Mandy the monkey!! Literally! She climbed everything. Pretty good at it. I was having a heart attach watching her but the school owner kept saying, "This is okay."
We are so excited about our trip back to the states. I have to admit, though, that I am a bit apprehensive. As hard as it was to leave the first time, I just don't want to live through that again. This time will most likely be different because I know what to expect on my return to China. The first time was a blank page. Many unknowns and many fears. I will be looking forward to getting back to what we love to do here and seeing more of China. I am hoping we can explore Beijing next year. Of course it is the finances that make it difficult to up and go. I started an online teaching business. So far no clients but I am hopeful to have a few before the year is up. So my focus is going to be to just enjoy my time with you all, visit as many as we can, and enjoy the things that are missing from our lives here in China like..............buttery popcorn!!
Love and hugs......Cindy
